In-house Diagnostics in Greenville, NC
Pet X-rays and Veterinary Diagnostics
Understanding Your Pet’s Health with Our In-House Lab
Blood tests are just as essential for dogs and cats as they are for us humans. A small blood sample contains a lot of information for our veterinary team to evaluate, and be the key to finding the right treatment for your pet. In addition, we can perform fecal, urine, and skin testing in-house, too.
Some of the tests we perform regularly at our hospital include:
- Heartworm testing
- Tick-borne disease testing
- CBC (complete blood cell count)
- Blood chemistry panels
- Fecal exam
- Urinalysis
- Cytology (skin tests)
Using Digital Radiography to Better Visualize the Bones and Organs
Animal Care of Greenville uses digital cat and dog X-rays to get a better visual of your pet’s bones, joints, heart, and lungs. Unlike film X-ray, digital X-ray exposes your pet to far less radiation and produces sharper, clearer images of their internal systems. These procedures also tend to go more quickly, as they require fewer retakes and less re-positioning to get a better image. We can also send files containing your cat or dog’s X-rays to outside specialists if necessary.
Digital X-ray is ideal for detecting and diagnosing:
- Bone fractures
- Inflamed joints
- Tumors (depending on where they are located)
- Foreign bodies in the stomach or intestine
- Heart and lung diseases
- Bone deformities
- And more!
